Hi,
Make sure you have CRS on the fly activated. Install the openlayer
plugin and open a Google earth layer. (Notice that the project CRS will
change).
Make sure you don't zoom in too much because the layer will shift. Make
sure your layer is well georeferenced. Then try again with the CSV. Small
shift between 20 to 200 meter can be caused by thing like using nad27 vs nad83.
Try other projections for the file. You can do that by right clicking on
the layer (in the layer manager) and then changing the projection.
Good luck!

I've been stopped in my tracks by a seemingly simple problem. I created a
map of NYC using Sqlite files--all set to EPSG: 2263, but when I add a csv
(SHL_PU in attached) and set it to the same CRS it does not match the
previously added layers--it appears slightly to the west-- even though the CRS
appears to be the same. I've tried to add the csv file innumerable times
using different on the fly and project settings to no avail. I'd appreciate
any help anyone has to offer. Even after searching through many discussion
groups I've not yet found an answer to this problem. Any help would be
deeply appreciated. Separately/relatedly, I'm interested in finding a qgis
tutor. I'm flexible on schedule, frequency, and time commitment. If
interested please contact me at [hidden email] . Thanks, Taryn
