--configpath C:\temp\qgistest -> works Rename/delete .qgis2 in home directory -> same behaviour The results kind of confuse me. Why does qgis only start if I give it a completely new path for the settings directory? Should I change settings in the registry?! It also writes the Windows registry settings into a QGIS.ini file. --noplugins helps to disable all plugins As others said, in 95% of the cases it is because of a broken plugin or setting.
