Hi,
You can also try to save as a spatialite layer. It's more modern then the
shape file and is likely faster especially for operations demanding topology.

I tried this with 2.14 on WIndows and 2.12.3 on Ubuntu. The shapefile appears
fine and works without issue in Arc Thanks in advance for any input! Cheers,
