I forgot to indicate that also “gpsimporter plugnin” crashed the Qgis startup. I downloaded version 2.14.0. Upon uploading a shapefile, the software crashed. When I re-opened it, it came up with this screen. Apparently Plugin MetaSearch crashed the system.
