Hi Kuan,

You won't have the layers displayed in your browser until you write some GetMap requests by hand. To test your server,you have to use a client which could be QGIS desktop. Use the add WMS layer functionnality and use your WMS Server adress : http://localhost:81/cgi-bin/qgis_mapserv.fcgi?map=pudong.qgs <http://localhost:81/cgi-bin/qgis_mapserv.fcgi?map=pudong.qgs&SERVICE=WMS&VERSION=1.3&REQUEST=GetProjectSettings>
You can also install QGIS Web client for this purpose.

When everything will be ok for you, you could edit documentation and add information lacking for newbies.

Hi JM,

Thanks for going through the installation. The url you mentioned, when typed into firefox or chrome browsers, returns the following message.

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
<ServiceExceptionReportxmlns="http://www.opengis.net/ogc"version="1.3.0";>
<ServiceExceptioncode="Service configuration error">Service unknown or unsupported</ServiceException>
</ServiceExceptionReport>

That is the same message I received on my experiment. I'm not sure whether this is the intended result. maybe it's halfway there? I'd really hope to learn how to make my QGIS server show the actual map composed by QGIS desktop.
