Hi,
Look at online documentation for the Qgis project. There are many PDFs
including a Gentle introduction to GIS. YouTube can be a good friend.
It can all be done. Qgis can import the txt file using the layer/add
layer/add delimited text layer. You will need to know what CRS
(coordinate reference system) to set for the project (probably wgs84 epsg
4326). Depending no the look of the final map and the type of data, you
will probably use a heatmap (layer property/style/heatmap).
Good luck( you may need it at first)!
Write back for more info if needed.
Nicolas

Dear all, I would like to use QGIS to depict data derived from
population genetic analysis. I'm working on a txt file with information
relative to: - Collection sites - Latitude - Longitude - Number of individuals
I would like that each collection site has got a marker (such as a circle) of
different colour, and of different size according to the number of individuals
that are reported for each collection site. Could you explain me how can i do
it, please? I'm working in a Windows 10 laptop with QGIS 2.14.2 Essen.
Thank you very much in advance. Best regards, Giulia
