Hi Martin, thanks for sharing. As it happens I submitted a (modest) grant proposal for X3D Processing based development. I think the approaches are very complementary and should not distract from each other. Perhaps there are still opportunities to combine efforts in some way ?

I have been playing with Qt 3D module recently and submitted a grant proposal for native 3D support in QGIS.
