Hi list. Some developer here? I opened a project just for change the name of a print composer: i've opened the Composer Manager, changed the name of the unique composer, closed it, and closed QGIS, waiting for "Do yo want to save the current project?". It didn't appeared, and, of course, changes were not saved.
Tested in Ubuntu 16.04 (QGIS 2.18) and Windows 10 (QGIS 2.99). It's not waited behavior, is it?. Best whishes for 2018 Carlos
