I think it would be better to let the computer tell the user what he **can** have. Like the OSGEO4W installer. I added a comment on the Github page https://github.com/qgis/QGIS-Website/issues/509.
So the user would not add certain repos depending on his OS, but just an installer that evalutes the needed repos, ppa's and keys.
