Lene, The "Lat Lon Tools" plugin has a function that will save a point layer geometry into attribute fields. I don't know if that is what you need or not, but if so you will see it under "Plugins->Lat Lon Tools->Conversions->Geometry to Field". There is a lot of flexibility with it.
