Hi Steven, Do you mean that after importing the shape in Arcgis you are using a tool (SSMS) to check the CRS? I have always been baffled about ArcGis trying to transform correct CRSes. I can only guess that the geometry is transformed in memory but not written to the actual data. That way if you check the CRS of the data with another tool you see the original CRS.
