Hi all,
It looks like it is a binary file and is propriorty to Geosoft software.
If you have access to the Geosoft software export in a file format that can be read by QGIS, there are a lot of them.

Open it in a text editor and look at the format.  I imagine this is a text file?

suggests that GDAL may support a related (public) exchange format.  Can you export from your software to this format (.gxf)?
