Hi Eddison,

the term you are looking for is "zonal statistics" aka "give me raster cell statistics for the zones of my polygon layer".

First make an actual polygonal layer with your buffer areas and then use the "Zonal statistics" tool. In the "Statistics to calculate" option choose "Majority". That should give you the category value of the dominant cells per zone.

Best do a detailed check calculation of some example areas *by hand* so you know it is exactly what you want.

Cheers
Hannes

Hello, I have two maps:

1 raster
1 vector

I want to have a map 3 where it tells me the following:

In the vector buffer area, which category of the raster is the most according to the area.

I hope I have made sense of it.

Thanks

Eddison
