Ahoi Martin, elevation data should be in the “dmr5g” default layer. But I can confirm that this layer only delivers transparent pixels (while the legend image shows that elevation information should be available between 9.76 and 1603.17. May be you can contact the contact point of the service (available at the metadata of the service).
