Thanks, Ill look into the symbology/attribute settings properly. It looked ok to me, but I'm a basic user! Ill try copying a layer that works ok and see if that works to paste into
Layer just doesn't display, did check the memory usage and seemed ok to me, have lots of empty RAM and memory Thanks Sent from Outlook for Android<https://aka.ms/AAb9ysg> ________________________________ From: Brent Wood <brent.w...@niwa.co.nz> Sent: Tuesday, August 19, 2025 1:44:12 am To: Chiz Harward <c...@urban-archaeology.co.uk> Cc: qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org <qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org> Subject: Re: [Qgis-user] Issues rendering after pasting into layers Hi Chiz, Just regarding the polygons failing to show up... Do you have a symbology on the table that assigns colours to polygons based on an attribute value with no default setting? If the new polygons have such values which do not exist in the symbology setup, that could be why they don't render in that layer. Is it just immediately after pasting the polygons, or also if you open the layer afresh, they still don't display? I'm still on v3.34 (need to do something about that!) and have not expeienced the freezing issue. I'm on Linux, but assume you are on Windows but you didn't say. I'd look at the resources QGIS is using and see if it is just working very hard doing something, or is frozen & doing nothing. It can appear similar to the user, but they are very different issues. When copying selected polygons into another polygon layer I am not getting the new polygons rendering in the view. The Feature Total of the layer goes up, and the nodes appear as red crosses, but there is no rendering of the polygons. The layer is at top of the layer bar and opacity bar is 100% so is not that Also getting issues with the view freezing if I uncheck layers and the layer does not disappear from view, or the whole view goes blank, or cannot pan or zoom Have restarted QGIS several times and restarted computer. Any suggestions appreciated for the rookie error I have made!
