It is also possible to import any layer if you open the grass shell (bottom of the list in grass tools) and use the command line.

Hope it helps

Subject: [Qgis-user] GrassTools: Import OGR/GDAL layer
Date: Fri, 24 Nov 2006 11:47:48 +0100

In Grass Tools, how is it possible to select a layer to import with the
<Import OGR/GDAL layer> modules? The modules do not allow to browse the
directory tree and layers to be imported into Grass are obvioulsy not
located in the Grass-database (which is accessible with the chooser under
"GDAL raster layer" or "OGR vector layer". Thanks,

Henning
