Hi all.
Six critical bugs seem squashable before the end of the year, but what
about the other 16? Are you going to release qgis 0.8 with known (even
if not critical) bugs, or are you confident that they can be fixed in
time?
We will do our best to close as many bugs as possible, however it is inevitable that there will be some remaining issues in the release. I think this is true with all software, its just more obvious in the open development model. All past releases have had some unresolved issues and while we would like to release perfect software, its a matter of time/benefit ratio.

And, aren't you planning to release the usual alpha-beta-rc1 sequence?
We have been in feature freeze since approximately March. The preview releases have served the purpose of the beta cycle. Preview 3 this week will be in effect the release candidate.
