Hi folks, as of today I have managed to run a sample Qi4j application with a Swing UI on the Neo FreeRunner with the cacao standard Java/classpath combo and the provided GTK bindings. SWT is also tested. Everything is packaged including dependencies into the common .ipk or .deb formats with desktop shortcuts etc using the maven pkg plugin. The code is at https://scm.ops4j.org/repos/ops4j/laboratory/users/peter/qi4f/test-app/ .
So, now I will add the Neo4j(already tested and running on the device) and REST entitystores to the mix, after that I should be able to write nice little apps using domain interfaces and the Swing bindings. Will be very interesting to test with a client app for RTM!
