Depends on what you want to do. But essentially; JDBM is a reasonable default implementation. Rickard has recently made (or working towards) an industrial strength one using Berkley DB (Sleepycat JE), and I am working towards a Oracle Coherence store (needs a lot more before production grade). If you need centralized storage, you will probably use the Rest store on the clients, and one of the other centrally. Now, Qi4j is still not ready for primetime. We can't yet guarantee stability in APIs and that no massive new features will 'just show up'. But we are getting there.
