The license for Open Source projects should work on both the Milestone and the final release later. I am not sure about the commercial licenses, I would guess that an upgrade or new license is needed, and if you buy IDEA 8 now the license will work on IDEA 9 as well (that has been the common pattern). I think the feature list is fairly interesting, and I hope that those features are as solid as we have come to expect from JetBrains. - OSGi - GWT - Android - Google AppEngine support are all things that I personally look forward to. Our projects should not check-in IDEA 9 files until the final version is available...
