In respect to other plans that we would like to materialize in the
near or mid term.

*** Release 1.0 ***

When: In January???
What:
  - qi4j-core/api
  - qi4j-core/spi
  - qi4j-core/bootstrap
  - qi4j-core/runtime
  - qi4j-core/testsupport

  - qi4j-extensions/entitystore-jdbm
  - qi4j-extensions/entitystore-preferences
  - qi4j-extensions/entitystore-rest
  - qi4j-extensions/indexing-rdf
  - qi4j-extensions/reindexer
  - qi4j-extensions/migration

  - qi4j-libraries/* (or those that extensions depend on?)

The current Jira issues marked 1.0 should IMO be fixed first.
I also think that we need more work going into samples and tutorials
prior to release. However, there is too few hands available ;-(
hampering this severely.

*** Qi4j Organization ***

Jayway is investing in creating a non-profit organization around Qi4j.
This will allow for donations, agreements, trademark
registrations/protections and to some level protect the contributors
from legal risks. I have not been informed of the legal structure that
is being considered, but I kind of assume/require one that is
Membership based, and that contributors can become Members without
paying for it. I hope to receive more details in January.

*** Qi4j Technology ***

I think that we need to focus on quality for the 1.1 release, and not
adding so much new features. Fixing up the standard of libraries,
extensions, documentation, tests are possibly the main subject areas
in the next 6 months. And I want to formulate a good SDK for non-Maven
users. Hopefully, the 1.0 release will bring in some new blood helping
out in ironing out the many parts that need work.

Cheers
