I had a look at the sources from release_1.4.1. It seems that in UnitOfWorkInstance the stateCache and instanceCache are still plain HashMaps. This is the (most important) place where Entities are held. The GC cannot reclaim any Entity as long as these are plain HashMaps. At least this was my idea until now. Am I wrong? What kind of caching Extensions do you talk about?
