Paul Merlin commented on QI-353:
--------------------------------

I took a first look at this issue and I have some questions.

I can't see where and how the maven-compat.gradle file is used.
It is referenced from the main build.gradle (apply from:) but the generated
poms do not contain what is inside maven-compat.gradle.
Is this supposed to work ?

> Improve generated pom.xml files so they are directly usable from an IDE

> The pom.xml files generated by gradle are not directly usable to open Qi4j
> modules in an IDE.
> Here are the changes needed :
> * Set Java version for source and target
> * Set file encoding to UTF-8
> * Declare needed repositories
> Here is a snippet for the first two changes:
> <properties>
> <project.build.sourceEncoding>UTF-8</project.build.sourceEncoding>
> <maven.compiler.source>1.6</maven.compiler.source>
> <maven.compiler.target>1.6</maven.compiler.target>
> </properties>
> <build>
> <plugins>
> <plugin>
> <artifactId>maven-compiler-plugin</artifactId>
> <configuration>
> <encoding>UTF-8</encoding>
> <source>${maven.compiler.source}</source>
> <target>${maven.compiler.target}</target>
> </configuration>
> </plugin>
> </plugins>
> </build>
> At first sight it seems that theses changes could be added to the generated
> root pom and then inherited by all Qi4j modules. That said, I don't know how
> gradle pom generation work so the way to go may be different.
