In German it's even different from what is described in the link. We 
very regularly
say million, milliard, billion, billiard, trillian, trilliard, etc.

Sorry... but I believe Trillian was a female character from the 
Hitchhikers Guide....

And billiard(s) is also a very entertaining game that I sadly cannot play 
:-)
