only. Apart from that how come you have a 'World Series' that is only played by Americans ?
The Major League Baseball (MLB) has a World Series because teams from the US and Canada are in the League. Canada has the Toronto Blue Jays and the Montreal Astros. The World Series started in 1903, long before Japan or other nations has professional baseball.
