Yes - it was the battery, this was a long time ago IIRC I got the battery from Miracle, seem to recall it lived under one of the chips or some other removable component. not much help I guess
It is the red blob on TOP of the processor.
It is lithium and thus does not charge.
Roy Wood knows how to get replacements.
When inserting careful about polarity. SGC board does not mark +ve, and I have seen batteries inserted incorrectly. From memory, +ve is the pin nearest the centre of the board - hopefully someone will confirm this. I write '+' on the base of the pcb, as Mike Tomlinson should have done in copper! (as he did on GC).
