But which would only result in even queerer resolutions like
1024x1024? Especially with the trend clearly going to LCDs I don't
think this is worth it. I only have LCDs in the house and while
developing the driver it was difficult enough to test modes like
512x480...

Which is not really an option, is it? It's probably okay for QDOS and
Minerva, they haven't been updated for ages, but with SMSQ/E you'd be
back to status quo, having to load it from a device after booting
another OS.

I'd say better invest the time in a complete replacement for the SGC ;-)
