Actually, subject lines are very important and a continuing frustration to me - and definitely not only on this mail list. I treat subject lines (or try to) as part of good manners. Knowing how busy I am, I appreciate the little things that everyone does to help myself and others manage our collect time better.
Also, for those who take the time to snip off the extras in a response, another bout of appreciation.
