Probably because of auto-converting. This is no problem with a webpage as it is easily corrected, but not sure how to do it with an email. Of course, with oriental languages you would have to have suitable character sets installed on your machine. I have a similar experience with Phoebus' greek - sometimes it reproduces correctly and sometimes not. In general I have few problems with foreign character sets on my emails. One thing that has always fascinated me is Tony's mails. Sometimes at the end of a paragraph I get I get (8-)#. I am not sure what it means. It was, of course, mischievous of me to send a message in unicode.
