On this subject I have had good experiences using Norton anti-spam. In 
December I received almost 70 spam emails a day. Norton correctly identified 
over 95% of these and put them in a spam folder. It is only very rarely that 
a genuine email ends up in the spam file.

I don't know how these programs work, but they certainly make my inbox more 
pleasant to deal with. At one stage I tried, like Tony, to write my own 
rules but ended up with so many that I found it almost impossible to 
maintain.

I did get one interesting spam last month from the "CIA" telling me they had 
found my details on 30 illegal sites and requiring me to register with them. 
As these must all be QL related subversive sites we should be able to hold a 
workshop in Cuba some time later this year,
