Well, Im not quite as pleased as I deserved to be after all that shite. There is still some problem, though the symptoms keep moving around like a spasm in a hypochondriac's colon. Ive probably blamed just about everyone whos ever produced software for the QL (myself included) so please excuse me for lashing out at all and sundry. At the present moment suspicion has reverted back to FileInfo2, specifically v3.50. System QPC2 v3.33, SMSQ/E v3.13: 1 REMark lrespr'win2_debug_qmon' 2 LRESPR 'win2_rxt_Menu_rext': rem V7.66 Latest released version (?) 3 lrespr 'win2_util_file_qpac2': rem V1.45 - latest released version 4 rem lrespr 'win2_hdw_dzeta_FileInfo2_bin': rem MyFI2 5 lrespr 'win2_rxt_fi2_FileInfo2_bin': rem Original, V3.50 umodified file 6 LRESPR 'win2_sed_QD': rem v B.01 7 data_use 'win1_' 8 exep 'files' With the simple boot file above, when I execute my boot file from Qpac2 Files, - no pwoblem. When I execute the same (or any other) file a second time: Bang! QD starts up with 'QD_exe' in the box that should contain the file name, ie it should say - and load - 'win1_boot', but in fact says 'QD_exe' and loads nothing. I get lots of other crazy problems, such as Scrap not working etc, when I load my entire, newly refurbished, boot file. But common to them all is that if I omit loading FileInfo2_bin they all vanish - poof! I hasten to add that I confirmed the validity of this test by re-downloading FileInfo2 from source. Qpac2 was also recently renewed from source, as were QPC2 and SMSQ/E. QD is rather old, but that was a deliberate choice as I didnt like the upgrade, however, thats the only usable version I have.
