Hi Chaps, The only QL I own with working Microdrives for some reason refuses to work with my GC but works with my Trump card. whereas my other QL with very unreliable microdrives works fine with my GC.
Because I am in the process of 'backing up' my microdrives to 3.5" disk, I am forced to use my trump card ( II i think ) however I am having difficulties when attached to my twin ED drives. For example dir flp1_ This causes the ED drives to emit a sound reminisant of the head moving ( whirr ), what happens then is this sound is repeated except the pitch is slightly deeper or slowed down, it is then repeated again at an even deeper pitch and so on until it's almost in slow motion and then i switch everything off. These ED drives work fine with the GC without the need for any FLP_JIGGLE. Can I assume ED drives don't work with a Trump Card. This is a tempory problem as I'll soon have my faulty microdrive Ql replaced with a working one which, fingers crossed will work with my SGC and therefore ED drives.
