This discussion raises a couple of questions in my mind.
a, Do the emmulators use the same interleave factor as on the QL, the
default, I think, was three, but could be altered in the definition block.
b, Whereas the PC (I did come by one of the originals) used none, writing
was as far as possible contiguous. That being the case it must be much
simpler for QL to read PC's disks than vice versa, so would it not be
easier to do the transfer in QDOS mode ?
I can no loger put the kit together to do the following tests :-
A substantial text file, circa 512k on a PC floppy
time how long to :-
load into PC editor
load into QL editor in emulators
load into QL editor after transfer in emulator
ditto in the black box
Anybody care to put it to the test ?
