I have got 3 different QLs and never obtained a correct display with the composite output signal from the QL.
I have tried also 2 different video convertors (composite to VGA) and the result was very horrible while this convertors give a correct result with games consoles like XBOX et PS2. So, i would say that this signal is definitively bad and cannot be used in a regular manner. I can not say if this is the 1377 fault. One trick can do it a little better (but it is not miraculous) is to put a 75 ohms resistor in the A/V plug (I remember that output from the 1377 must be loaded by 150 Ohms and the QL is missing the 75 ohms - the other 75 ohms one is inside the monitor).
