> None of the backplanes I know, including Qplane and Mplane, have any > buffering. > > Tony No, when I looked at this in more detail, I realised it was only the CST Q+4 which had buffering - it had a small circuit board which fitted in the QL expansion slot and a rather rigid ribbon cable which fed the connections to the Q+4 which sat under the QL.
