AFAIK there is no published material on the internal workings of the file systems, although source codes for SMSQ/E (Wolfgang Lenerz pages) and QDOS Classic (Mark Swift and Claus Graf Q40 website) are available to study how their inner workings operate, if you are familar with assembler at that level.
