I don't know where he got the stuff from, but he built about 5000 QL's 
out of spare parts in the eighties. In 1993 in Eindhoven, he told me 
only 48 had left.

The first time I saw them was in 1988/9 as the Elra shop (a Dutch 
electronics shop that disappeared years ago). They were sold in big 
brown cardboard boxes with a white piece of paper stuck on it. On the 
paper the word QL was foto copied in black. They did cost 350 Dutch 
guilders back in 1988/9, Elra would go down to 300 Dutch guilders, but I 
only had 250 Dutch guilders so I didn't buy one.
