Morning Andy,

Go to PC World (or similar) and buy an interface card. They cost about
a fiver these days.

>> Should I emulate the QL with Win 95, or Linux on this PC?
For best results using QPC or QL2K, Windows. They can be run under
Linux using Wine, but a few people get 'repeating keypress' problems
with both emulators under Wine. Me being one of them.

For Linux, the UqLX emulator works. But gives you a plain vanilla QL
that doesn't have the new graphics drivers and so on. It runs QDOS and
not SMSQ/E etc.

(I'm working with Jimmy et al to try and build a native version of QL2K
to run under Linux without Wine. Progress being very slow as I'm still
at the stage of trying to figure out what the code does, the driver
ROMs and so on. Maybe one day though!)

>> If Linux, should I remove Win 95, to free up the disk space?
If you have no need to run Win95, then yes.

>> How do I remove Win 95 & all data AND then install Ubuntu?
When you install Ubuntu, tell it to use the entire disc for itself at
the partitioning stage.

However, for best results, do that then edit the partitioning and
separate out some space for /home and the rest for / and for swap. That
way, if you ever upgrade, your own files in /home will be safe.

>> What is the Linux QL emulator called?
Uqlx.

Cheers,
Norman.
