John, using IE I have no problems getting the link to the Quanta
Subscriptions page, but then when I click the link on that page I get a
paypal error message, "Sorry, an error occurred after you clicked the last
link."

If you look at the top of the menu on the HOME page, you will see a
flashing display. Click on that and you will be taken to the subscriptions
page.
I am using IE v7 too and it works for me.
Alternatively try this URL:
http://www.quanta.org.uk/subscriptions/index.asp
which should take you straight there.

Hmm - not that user friendly - I could not find the PayPal subscription
link on the home page (in IE v7) - clicking on the QUANTA logo took me to
the right page, but that is not very obvious for casual browsers - why
not add "SUBSCRIBE HERE" to the menu on the left hand side of the screen?
