I have been trying to help someone transfer some microdrive cartridges to an emulator and am having problems transferring a copy of Astrologer from Digital Precision from microdrive cartridge, both tapes giving bad or changed medium from a few files.
I wonder if that was predicted? :-) :-)
I might have known someone would say that ;-)

I presume you have tried the good old format ram1_mdv1 and so on a few
times to see what you get?
Yes, I eventually got it up to 255/256 sectors by repeatedly formatting and easing the cartridge slightly to change its position very slightly each time. It's interesting how microdrives vary - trying it in mdv2_ only got something like 129 good sectors, yet mdv1_ managed 255. With the second cartridge it was the other way around, neither read perfectly but mdv2_ recovered more sectors than mdv1_ did, yet they were both the same package from the same company.

Actually, it sounds bad (typically microdrive) but given that I was told they hadn't been touched for 23 years, it's not bad at all.
