(it's been around a while actually) which is a cousin to their QBasic
and the like, designed to go with the .net framework etc. But above all,
what got my attention was that it was "designed to put the fun back into
programming."
Recently there was an interview in a Dutch newspaper with Wendy Hall, who
is a mathematician and a member of the British advisory board for science
and technology. She stated that she hated computers until she learned
Basic programming on a Commodore homecomputer. She also agreed with the
Dutch computer scientist Edsger Dijkstra who has said: "Once you have
learned Basic, you're mentally maimed for the rest of your life.".
Probably true for most of us on this list. ;)
