Does anyone know what the mini-usb connectors (as found on digital cameras,
mobile phones, etc, but not the 'square' type on printers) are properly called?

I'm trying to set up a GPRS connection via my V3 mobile so I can go online (to
read ql-users of course) when I'm without net access and not sure if the type
of lead i have is correct or not (the plugs fit, but looking at eBuyer website
for example there seems to be 4, 5 and 6-pin variants). I must have the wrong
type as the PC reports a modem hardware failure trying to connect GPRS through
this Motorola V3, though looking at various forums it seems to be a very common
problem with Motorola phones that even if you use the official Motorola drivers
the PC will very often say "modem not present" and the advice is always the
same (reinstall) and of course that never works.

It might just be the Motorola software drivers I suppose, but I'd like to check
in case the cable is a wrong type.

Asking the mobile phone company to send the browser message to set the GPRS
settings on my mobile seems to have knocked out its bluetooth too, another
worry.
