1. What were the free Medic Datasystems games?
There was m-crunch, m-treasure and metropolis, plus another one called
"Cosmic Cruiser?"
I have about 8 different Medic microdrives, some with games 1 and some
with games 2 - alas this 4th game is the only one I cannot retrieve - my
disk versions are also corrupt!! Does anyone have a working copy?
Hmm, the three you listed are the ones I have on my disk. I have the
original Medic MDV key cartridges but no QL to read them with - most
of my QL gear is buried deep in the attic after the house move. I'm
sure if you could find the early Medic adverts in early QL World and
QL User mags, they did list the free programs in some of the adverts -
sadly again my mags are also buried deep in the boxes in the attic.
I have a number of original disk from Emsoft in the USA and an
interesting Crosswords program from B.Otridge, for example. These are
accessible luckily! Would rare programs like this be of use to you if
I sent you the originals? Apart from collector value,, they are of no
real use to me if you can make use of them, plus any other rarities I
may be able to dig out.
Hi Dilwyn,
Any rare pieces of software are worth saving and archiving for the
future and including on the QL Wiki, although it does help if we know
who wrote them and the copyright status!!
I can read MDVs and disks, so no worries - if you want to lend me the
original Medic MDV key cartridges that would be helpful
