Rich,

Most Windows based PDF editors like Adobe, Foxit are commerical, but you could try Open Office which may be able to load the file in or use a Linux system that will have a open Source PDF editor available.

I have been passed a scanned copy of an Open University unit from their Design and Innovation course from 1986.

It is a study on why the marketing of the Sinclair QL failed at the time.

I have now received permission from the Open University to make this document available on the internet, but alas it contains certain copyright images and diagrams, which they are insisting need to be blanked out.

The copyright material is:
Sinclair Research and Kinnear Limited for Figures 1, 3,
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 18 and 28; Cambridge Consultants
Ltd. for Figure 2; IBM (UK) Ltd. and Saatchi and
Saatchi and Compton Ltd. for Figure 15; Acorn
Computers Ltd. for Figure 19; Silica Distribution Ltd.
for Figure 21; Commodore Business Machines (UK) for
Figure 22; Electronics Engineer for Figure 23; Tandata
Marketing Ltd. and Market Link for Figure 24;
Syndication International for Figure 25; Dixons Ltd. for
Figure 26;

Does anyone have any contacts to be able to contact some of these people to obtain their permission to include the copyright material? I can of course send a copy of the Open University document for you to pass on.

Also, does anyone have a tool to be able to block out the diagrams and photos we cannot get permission for? Adobe Acrobat would be ideal!
