Inspired by the article on "make free books" in Computeractive, which shows how
to extract material from the free online encyclopedia Wikipedia I decided to
try it out.

I started with the usual search for Sinclair QL and added all pages linked to
from that main page. It includes pages about ZX Spectrum and other related
stuff like general information on modems and so on.

I didn't set out to create a monster, but it turned out to be a 52.5 MB book
with 616 pages!

The size makes it impractical to put on my website or send by email I guess,
plus I haven't looked into the copyright staus of it (too much small print to
read!), but it goes to show what half an hour could achieve! I guess if anyone
wanted a copy I could pop it onto CD and mail it out or try getting it onto my
website some way if anyone can be bothered to check copyright status before
asking for a copy :-)

It's called simply THE SINCLAIR QL AND RELATED COMPUTERS, here's a text-only
list of contents to show what could be done in half an hour! It says in the
footer
"PDF generated using the open source mwlib toolkit. See
http://code.pediapress.com/ for more information." if anyone wants to look into
using it to compile their websites into books!
