Considering the small number of QL users, the response to my SD card
ideas for the original QL was overwhelming. Thank you Dilwyn for your
QUANTA coverage, I had positive feedback outside ql-users as well.

It was a hard decision whether to design an SD card interface or not,
because I won't be able to continue other QL projects meanwhile. But
the decision is YES, I actively work toward an SD card interface for
the original QL now. My goal is more than just a minimal solution.
But it's too early for details.

It would be nice, if those who wanted the SD-card interface can accept there is no progress toward a major system during this time. And that
I have private priorities.

Many thanks,
Peter
That is good news, Peter.

As we don't have an interface for hard disks being made at the moment, the possibilities of adding large flash memory cards to a QL is a great option.

After all, it's not very long ago that a 20/40MB hard disk system like Miracle's seemed huge, or even an 8MB RomDisq was a luxury. Now, if we can add 512MB or even bigger flash memory cards to a QL we won't need to think in terms of hard disks at all, perhaps?

Good luck with the SD card project, I'm sure it will sell well.

Dilwyn Jones
