Chris Zeinstra in The Netherlands is looking at the possibilities of
producing a Java based QL emulator. There has been a dicussion on the
QL Forum - see www.qlforum.co.uk and the Emulation section, or see the
messages direct at
http://www.qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=178
and
http://www.qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=170#p888
Chris (who goes by the name Zeccie on the Forum) says he has "a lot of
experience with Java programming, being a CS lecturer at the
university. I know it would be a big project, but a lot of code
already exists and needs to be ported to Java."
He has appealed for help with this project - so far he has got as far
as taking a 68000 emulation to the point of doing the tweed RAM test
using a version JM ROM, and studying sources of some existing
emulators..
If anyone here can help in any way - especially perhaps the emulator
authors and those with a knowledge of the internals of QL ROMs etc,
please do get in touch with him via the QL Forum
