Today is an anniversary, but a sad one. It is a year ago that Quanta's website
went down. The last structural update occurred on 25th July 2010.

With all respect to Quanta they must now ask themselves a simple question. If
they have not be able to sort out the problems with the Content Management
System (CMS) in 12 months, will they ever sort them out?

The matter has gained a urgency now that Quanta is paying £300 p.a. for its
website, but getting no return on the investment. Bluntly that is over £75 of
members' money down the drain since the AGM.

I would ask Quanta now to scrap the CMS and urgently set up a simple temporary
site to give them a web presence. If they want to continue experimenting with
the CMS then they can set up a shadow site on their domain for committee
members and testers only.

And can I suggest they avoid the staid maiden aunt style of the old site, but
put something on the front page to attract members and non-members? Dilwyn's
QL news pages for example,

Best Wishes,

Geoff
