I have a stack of boxed QLs and some have acquired issues over the years -
mainly with the microdrives becoming unreliable. I recently acquired an
additional 10 QLs, 5 working and 5 non, and have been parceling them out to
users, new and old, in Canada and the US. I also decided to thin out my own
stash and then found the current issues. The RAM1_ command is not on my TK2
ROM or Trump Card so I'll look on my Gold Card interface. Thanks for that
suggestion. I've tried to repair the foam pads but no joy.
It is not a ram1_ command - that is simply the destination.
It is a 'format' command. Gold Card (and SGC) definitely has it.
Check the order. I am pretty 'mdv1_' comes last.
Any suggestions for a QL that won't see it's m/drives at all? I reseated IC23
but to no affect. Everything else seems OK.
Can you be more specific please.
Do the drives spin at all, especially mdv1_ at boot.
Any activity LED?
