I'm slightly amending QStripper to read Quill files for the PC. I've got
most of the changes done - not many to be honest, but I've notices a
control code I know nothing about.
It's Hex(13) or 19 Decimal.
I *think* it could be italics on/off, but I'm not sure and could be making
it up!
Does anyone know?
PC Four and Xchange PC do indeed support italics so it may well be the code
for that. The codes in Quill files usually act as toggles, so the first 19
might be italics on, the second 19 might be italics off.
But that's not the only new facility in them of course. Reading an old
review I find it also supports "sequence presets" which allow the insertion
of predefined phrases such as "Yours Sincerely" into documents, but I
couldn't pick up whether they are encoded by a control code in the file with
control codes or not.
I have found a copy of pcfour here, but it fails to run on Windows 7 64 bit.
I'll see if I can persuade Ann's laptop (XP) to run it. If I can, I'll save
and send some sample files to you.
